Nursing home – there are currently over 200 local-government and private 24-hour facilities of this type in Poland. According to the data of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, there are approximately 80,000 people living in such facilities.

The research company PMR prepared a special report – “The private healthcare market in Poland 2015. Development forecasts for 2015-2020”. It shows that approximately 7% of seniors will use nursing homes as a place of residence in the future. This is the same as in Western Europe. “Social attitudes towards geriatrics and long-term care facilities are changing. Poles are less and less resistant to placing their loved ones in such homes, and the generation of current 40-50-year-olds is often better off financially than their parents. Also, people who are living abroad may be willing to pay for care for their parents in Poland.”

Nursing Home – A monthly stay in a private nursing home costs between 2,000 PLN and 15,000 PLN.

The price depends on the conditions of the stay, including the number of people in one room, and the range of services provided.

Not everyone enjoys good health in old age. When this problem concerns our loved ones, we may decide to use a nursing home. There is no doubt, however, that moving to such a home is a traumatic experience. The offer, especially of more-expensive homes, guarantees a comprehensive and professional range of services. Despite this, the psychological comfort of seniors who receive comprehensive care in their own homes is significantly higher.
